The full map measures 21 x 16 inches, and covers the Root River State Trail from Fountain through to Rushford. It shows the topography (i.e. the hills, plateaus, cliffs and valleys) using traditional hachured linework. The trail is shown in green, with black dots to indicate mile markers. Other cultural features (roads, parking areas, towns) are also clearly marked.
Sites of specific geologic interest are shown by circled numbers, which refer to the appropriate site description in the booklet. For additional information you will want to refer to the Background and Geologic History of Southeastern Minnesota sections of the Guide.
